What type of jobs are good for introverted people who are good at research and using computer software?

femalegtrst asked:

I am excellent at Microsoft Office, Desktop publishing, Internet and library research, problem solving, and working with a team. I am not good at answering questions on the spot, handling telephone calls, and being perfect.

I have been unsuccessful with job hunting, and I am trying to find ideas where to look next. I am not just out of college. I have no idea why I am not being hired, except that in my location there are not many jobs available. I do not think my appearance is a factor, but I could be wrong. I am also not sure whether I appear to be desperate for a job.

What is a career working towards the happiness of animals?

Asker asked:

I have considered becoming a vet, but the science and years of schooling isn’t very appealing to me. I would rather have a career working towards the happiness of animals rather than their health. And it wouldn’t hurt if it pays well…..But I’m looking for a career, not just a job. Any Ideas for someone who wants to work with animals and the relative amount of money?

How many total jobs lost during the Bush Administration?

gengidashiell asked:

I am doing a comparative discussion in a class I teach about job growth and loss. I can find the “jobs added” or “lost” for just about every other administration, but I can’t find the total jobs added/lost for the Bush Administration. I know by the end of his first term there were 1.1 million jobs lost, but what about inclusive of the second term?

Thanks in advance.

What career involves a lot of imagination and fantasy?

Jessica C asked:

I have an extremely Vivid imagination, and can actually see entire “scenes” i create in my head. I almost never have a moment where a story isn’t going through my head. When I see a movie or read a book, I can recreate the scenes in my head, and create new scenes. I like to act out the scenes too. I also LOVE magic and fantasy. Sometimes I even get sad because out world doesn’t involve either. What would a good career be for me? Any suggestions?

How far back do background checks look at employment records?

A True Blue Fan from Philly asked:

I have lots of years of employment history, lots of different places as I’m the mother of 4.

How far back, in years, will a potential employer check employment records? 7 years? I didn’t indicate employment going way back as I started working full time in 1978.

Thanks.
I checked my credit report and all 3 reports only show the past 7 years. Is that what they use to check?

How to have a writing career while working full time and having a family?

Lola asked:

I work 4 days a week, about 9-10 hours and have three days off in a row. I have a young child, planning a second soon, and love to write but have had a hard time turning it into a career. I’d like to eventually make it a full time career, but am not ready to take that leap. First of all, I make more money than my husband right now (he’s in school) and we need my job, and second, I don’t know yet if I would be successful, so it’s a lot to bank on. I do want to write professionally, by the way, not just as a hobby. So, how can I build up my writing career while working and still having time for family, etc.?

How does an employment agency charge for its services?

amazeme360 asked:

I am thinking about starting an employment agency and would like to know how they charge. Do they charge the person who needs an employee or the person who needs employment? How do they know if the person has been employed by the company? Do they just pay for the lead? What is the usual rate? Any info would be appreciated!
