You can’t from them. Your old tax returns or pay stubs should be an indicator.

Old tax returns or W-2 forms, or pay stubs to prove that you were receiving paychecks from them.
This is nothing the unemployment office hasn’t seen before.

I agree with the answers others gave you: tax returns will show the information for future use. The unemployment office actually often has these records, which get automatically put in their system when a person is paid, and which is linked through our Social Security number to the company tax ID number.
If you are trying to get the info now to update your resume, an approximate date on your resume is okay (e.g. June 2005), which you should be able to guess. I would also try and track down any supervisors whose cell or home phone number you may have had, in case you need a reference soon. Retailers are sometimes not great at giving a meaningful reference as to how good a job you do- they focus strictly on hiring dates if anything when future employers call corporate offices.

Hello Carly:
Your best bet is to use your old W-2′s (from your tax returns) to piece together the dates. Approximate dates (month & year) are okay for prospective employers. They won’t be able to verify with anyone at Bennigan’s anyway, since they’re out of business. If it was more than 3 years ago, your references aren’t going to include any of those people either, unless you still work with some of those people at other places, since leaving Bennigans.
Also, the Social Security administration would have the dates of Bennigan’s contributions to your SS accounts. You can request a copy of the contributions report from Social Security under the social security number used for those earnings.
Good luck in your search.
