Keep writing every day and you get better and better. I don’t know what you write but you need to know what markets to check out. You also need examples, like stuff you have had published and a bio to shop your writing around to publishers. Newspapers are a thought, if nothing else send letters to the editor for publication and keep a copy if they print it. Give a shot at putting together ad copy and ask local businesses if they need brochures, etc. Like any job there is supply and demand – look for the demand and supply what they need. Do not be vain, be practical and professional. On anything you write put (C)year your name, and how to contact you. This might make publishers wonder about you, as for example, if the newspaper prints you they own the copyright for their publication. You can self publish too. You have to have talent, you have to be good and you need to address the market. Hope this info helps.

What I would do is wait until your husband is out of school, until then start writing your book or what ever it is your writing, and do it little by little so you have something to look forward to.

Another way is to budget your money and cut your hours at work so you have more time to work on it.

If you really had talent, you would be making a lot of money writing and not asking such a silly question.
