How do I start an acting career when I’m still in High School?

mighty* :] asked:

I’m a seventeen year old high school student and I am extremely interested in becoming an actress. I took an Acting Workshop class at my school two years ago and I got a 90% A and the teacher said I have “Stage Precense”. I’ve been interested in Acting as a career since I was five or six years old.

So, my question is this: What should I do to pursue a career in acting? I live on Long Island (close to NYC). Should I print up a resume now and take headshots after February (when I get my braces off) and then go on auditions over the summer?

My aunt says I should go to college, which I want to, but I want to make sure I’ve exhausted every effort to become an actress first. So should I take a year off to pursue acting and then go to college?

Its so hard for me to decide because there are so many good choices, but the thing I am most passionate about is traveling. I’m really open to anything. So what career should a person who wants to travel the world and learn new things and meet new people choose?

Is a career in property worth pursuing after university? What are the benefits/drawbacks?

Tom asked:

Hi

I am graduating from university and looking/applying to various jobs at the moment. I was looking for some info about careers in real estate property or a similar sort of a job. I heard that its not a strictly office job and that you get to get out the office a fair bit. What is the likely amount you’d be earning throught your career? Is it a career you would recommend? Any help would be welcome guys.

Thanks.

Looking for a career that is highly structure and where the expectations are high?

MLeinart7 asked:

I don’t want to be a doctor, lawyer, etc or anything that would require a Ph. D or anything like that.

I feel that after much soul searching I would be good in a career that is highly structured and that could be mathematically orientated and that is people orientated. What are some jobs that would entail some of these requirements?
