You seem to have quite a range of skills at the moment, and you will certainly need to specialize in order to compete with other people wanting to work in the same industry. Decide on a pathway (e.g. photography) and explore the training and employment opportunities within it. With any of the disciplines you list there are a whole range of sub-disciplines you may want to make your specialist area (e.g. landscape photographer, portrait photographer, sports photographer, etc)

However, whichever you choose, it will be hard work. Unless you get in with an established company (you’ll almost certainly have to do get a few work placements for this), you will be out there as a freelancer. You can sign up to agencies who will try to find work on your behalf, but you will probably want to set up your own business at some point.

The main thing is, stay focused. Have an ambition an go for it. The skills you will need in this industry are not just technical ones like drawing or photography, you need to be self-motivated, be willing to adapt and make sacrifices.

While it may feel a lot like selling out, or losing your individuality, Advertising is one of the best paying careers for talented artists.
To do well in this area, I would recommend taking courses in your desired art classes as well as Rhetoric, Popular Modern Literature, Computer Aided Drafting, and perhaps one Psychology course. Those are not really required to enter the field, but they will give you an edge over others looking for the same job.

Well, I don’t know what kind of artist you are, but if you wanted to start making some money now you could try selling your work on etsy.com. It’s sort of like e-bay, but it’s not an auction and people sell their crafts and art and anything else that’s handmade. You should check it out. I love it.

Everything you learn will not be a waste. You will use all that you know sometime in your life.
I studied art at a few colleges and have taught myself a great deal since I was finger-painting. I am now a Designer. I have abilities in almost all graphics programs, cad programs, machining, woodworking…etc. My point is you will continually evolve. Most every object ever created had an artist behind it.

If you want to make a living you will be comfortable with functional art. If you want to be wealthy, become an engineer. If you want to keep the ideas sacred, be prepared to live thin for a while.
